Title: Original Sketch
Artist: Grant Gould
Book: Grant Gould’s 2009 Fan Days Sketchbook
At Star Wars Fan Days III in Plano, Texas; Grant Gould was selling a sketchbook in which he drew an original sketch on the back page. I chose to have Padme in her Ilum “Snowbunny” outfit from Star Wars: Clone Wars.
I bought this from Grant at Star Wars Fan Days III on October 25, 2009.
Item: Snowbunny sketch
Artist: Beck Seashols
Size: 2.5″ x 3.5″
Set: Rebel Legion Celebration VI Artist Series
Price: $12.50 (average)
For Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, Florida, in August 2012, the Rebel Legion created a set of cards from artist sketches. Beck Seashols did at least eight sketches for the set and they will be featured this week. This sketch sees Senator Padmé Amidala in the “Snowbunny” outfit she wore on Ilum in Star Wars: Clone Wars.
I acquired this card in a lot of sketch cards in the silent auction at the Rebel Legion Charity Dinner during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim.
Item: The Clone Wars booster pack
Line: Star Wars Miniatures
Artist: Terese Nielsen
Manufacturer: Wizards of the Coast
Terese Nielsen created the art that is used on one of the boxes for The Clone Wars booster packs for the Star Wars Miniatures line from Wizards of the Coast. Following the Celebration Japan featured two weeks ago, this is the second licensed art of Natalie Portman in the Ilum outfit. On the other boosters, an image of the actual miniature from the line is pictured.
I purchased a case or half of a case at New York Comic Con in February 2009.
Item: Women’s Admission badge
Event: Star Wars Conference Sitges 2004
Organzier: The Official Spanish Fan Club
Size: 3.5″ x 5.5″
Badges for the Spanish Star Wars Fan Club’s Conference in 2004 featured art from Star Wars: Clone Wars. The female admission badge featured art of Senator Amidala in her Ilum “Snow bunny” outfit. I learned about this badge when I visited Barcelona in June 2007 and found back issues of the official Spanish Fan Club magazine..
I purchased the full set of badges from Blanki Canton Corral in September 2007.
Artist: Tsuyoshi Nagano
Event: Star Wars Celebration Japan
Size: 16.5″ x 23.5″
This illustration of Padme Amidala is unique in many ways. Foremost, it is the first officially licensed depiction of Natalie Portman in the Snow Bunny outfit from Star Wars: Clone Wars. It also is the first to feature the Snow Bunny outfit along with costumes from any of the films–in this case, both from Attack of the Clones. More recently, it appeared in the book Star Wars Art: Illustrations.
Fellow Rebel Legion member Brian Huan picked this up for me at Celebration Japan.
Item: Cartoon Network Star Wars Clone Wars Battle Motion chase card
Price: pull from box of cards
Depending on the angle of view, this Battle Motion card displays one of two different images of Senator Padme Amidala in the Snow Bunny outfit on Ilum. At some angles, including the reverse side of the card both images are viewable.
I purchased a case of cards from Potomac Distribution
Item: Padmé Amidala Snow Bunny
Set: Galactic Files Series 2
Series 2 of Galactic Files includes a large section of cards depicting characters from Expanded University sources. While most of these characters exist only in the EU, there are also cards for Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker. This card is based on Star Wars: Clone Wars but uses a realistic re-imagination using the likeness of Natalie Portman.
I purchased two boxes from Dave & Adam;s Card World.
Item: Original Sketch of Ilum Padmé Amidala
Artist: Jason Keith Phillips
Set: Rebel Legion Artist Series
Much like the Star Wars Galaxy sets produced by Topps, the Rebel Legion costuming group created a series of art cards to raise money for Make-A-Wish. This set was distributed at Star Wars Celebration VI. I own both the original sketch and the card created from it.
The original sketches were sold on eBay to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Item: Padmé Amidala Character Key
Manufacturer: Acme Archives, Ltd.
Size: 8″ x 6″
ACME Archives introduced the character key at Star Wars Celebration III with Yoda, as seen in Star Wars: Clone Wars. The line continued for many years with a close correlation between character keys and Gentle Giant maquettes. The Padmé Amidala, much like the maquette, was a StarWarsShop.com exclusive, limited to 750.
I bought the key directly from StarWarsShop.com for $30.
Title: Padmé Amidala Clone Wars bust-up
Manufacturer: Gentle Giant, Ltd.
Star Wars: Clone Wars was the theme of series 7 of Gentle Giant’s bust-up line. It was the last series with individually blind-boxed packaging. Many of the bust-ups, including this one, matched the pose of their previously released maquettes. There were variants for Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous and neither the regular or variant matched the maquette.
I purchased the bust-up at the Great Escape downtown location on December 29, 2006.
