Item: Queen Amidala (NABOO) with Blaster Pistols
Line: Episode I (1999), Comtech Chip #6
This is the first Queen Amidala figure from Hasbro. Some fans were annoyed that by naming this figure Queen Amidala, it spoiled the deception that Padmé, the Queen’s handmaiden was actually the Queen of Naboo. This figure comes with the pistol used in the courtyard, while a later figure in this outfit comes with ascension gun used to reach a higher floor in Theed Palace.
The CommTech chip plays the following lines:
- “Now viceroy, this is the end of your occupation here.”
- “I am Queen Amidala.”
- “This is my decoy, my loyal bodyguard.”
- “If we do not act quickly, all will be lost forever.”
I purchased this figure during midnight madness at the Bellevue Toys R Us on May 3, 1999.
Item: Queen Amidala (BATTLE) with Ascension Gun
Line: Episode I (2000) #4
This is the second figure in the Episode I line to feature Queen Amidala in her handmaiden outfit. The first comes with the pistol used in the courtyard, while this one comes with ascension gun used to reach a higher floor in Theed Palace.
Item: Padmé Amidala Secret Ceremony action figure
This is the fourth figure in the Saga line to feature the Senator from Naboo. She is portrayed in the gown she wore to marry Anakin Skywalker at the end of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. The figure comes with a base shaped like the balcony on which the secret ceremony took place.
I bought this figure at Walmart on August 30, 2003.
Item: Padmé Amidala Attack of the Clones 12″ figure
While Hasbro produced several figures of Padmé Amidala in 12″ scale, this is the only offering in their main line of 12″ figures.
I bought this figure at Toys R Us.
Item: Amidala’s Star Skiff
Product Line: Titanium Series Die Cast
From 2005-2009, Hasbro produced nearly every ship seen in a Star Wars film plus many that weren’t in their Titanium series of die cast vehicles. The Star Skiff can be seen at the beginning of Attack of the Clones and the end of Revenge of the Sith.
I purchased this at Walmart in February 2007.
Title: Star Wars Battle Packs: Ambush at Ilum
Week 2: Snowbunny Padmé
The Ambush at Ilum Battle Pack contains R2-D2, C-3PO and two Chameleon Droids in addition to the Padmé Amidala figure. The figures are in a more realistic style than how they appeared on screen. Based upon “Chapter 16” of Star Wars: Clone Wars, the final chapter in a three chapter arc which takes place predominately on the planet Ilum. Chameleon droids infiltrate a cave on Ilum from which the Jedi harvest lightsaber crystals. Jedi Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee are present in the cave and fight the droids. Padmé who is transporting Jedi Master Yoda diverts to Ilum to rescue them. When Yoda is slow to return to the yacht she wonders off and comes face-to-face with four droids herself.
This is the only multi-figure, multi-character pack to include an Amidala figure. While it has been pointed out that there have been far more Anakin Skywalker figures produced than Padmé figures, the number of carded figures is actually somewhat close. It is the large number of figures packed with vehicles or other figures that creates the discrepancy.
I purchased several of these Battle Packs, all at Target, at prices ranging from $4.98 to $19.99.
Title: Queen Amidala
Line: Movie Heroes MH17
The only figure of Padme Amidala in the Movie Heroes line was this depiction of her, in the robes of a handmaiden, from the final battle of The Phantom Menace. I bought this figure at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney Marketplace in Walt Disney World.
