CWA 7 CWA 55

Item: Senator Amidala cards
Set: Star Wars Clone Wars Adventures
Manufacturer: Topps
Cards: 7/140, 55/140

From Amazon.com: Topps introduces the ALL NEW Star Wars: Clone War Adventures Trading Card Game. Based on a television show, Clone Wars is the #1 show with Boys ages 6-11. This easy-to-play kid friendly card game complements the HOT NEW online game from Sony! In total, 140 cards feature Star Wars characters, ships & vehicles. Additionally, there is a code card in every pack for the online virtual rewards!

The outfit on card 7 is similar to one she wore in Attack of the Clones; while card 55 has an all-new outfit. Unfortunately, this was the last set that Topps produced based on The Clone Wars.

I purchased a starter deck and several packs of cards at Target in August 2011.

Item: Season 2 Preview
Manufacturer: Topps
Set: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1 widevision
Card: PV-8

For season 1 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Topps produced a widevision series of cards. A subset/chase set of cards previewed season 2. This card featured Padmé Amidala in the arms of someone who was not her husband, Anakin Skywalker. We would eventually learn that about the Senator’s history with Rush Clovis..

Several of this card were in the boxes I purchased from Big T Sports Cards.

Day 84: Clone Wars Padmé by Grant Gould

(The streak is a scanner artifact. It does not appear on the art.)

Item: Clone Wars Padmé
Artist: Grant Gould
Size: 8/5″ x 11″
Material: Markers and blue pencils
Price: $50

Grant Gould seems to be the go to guy if you want art from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While he focuses on Ahsoka Tano, he does do great work on Senator Amidala. Here he has depicted her in her pilot outfit as seen in the Malevolence arc.

I purchased this sketch directly from Grant Gould in the Art Show at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim on April 16, 2015.

Item: Four stickers
Set: Star Wars: The Clone Wars trading card stickers
Manufacturer; Topps
Cards: 40, 42, 43, 71
Price: a few dollars at most

Following the release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in cinemas, Topps released two sets of trading cards. Far rarer of the two was the set of trading card stickers.  Padmé Amidala was featured on three character stickers (40, 42, and 43) and one scene card: Amidala Joins The Fight (71). With her limited role in the film, Senator Amidala does not appear in the three main sets of chase cards.

I bought these cards from a variety of sources, but probably completed a set with the cards I bought at Target.

Set: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (widevision)

To commemorate the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Topps released a series of trading cards in the widevision format in 2009. While Topps has released many sets in this format, this is currently the only set in the prequel era with sketch cards.

I purchased this card from Claw Gems LLC on eBay on February 19, 2015.

Day 20: Star Wars: The Clone Wars widevision clear cel card #5

Title: Padmé
Set: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (widevision)
Subset: Animation Clear Cel
Card: #5 of 10
Manufacturer: Topps
Cost: $36 for box of cards

Following the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Topps produced one of their best card sets ever.

Released in late November of 2009, this widevision card set showcases the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television show. Widevision cards give the set a stronger look than the earlier Clone Wars movie card set, showing more of the action, and generally presenting more of the imagery that makes the cartoon television show interesting. Because the show tends to focus on action sequences, the wider space is often needed to capture fully what is happening in a particular scene.

In addition to the 80-card base set, chase cards included eight Season Two preview cards, 20 foil cards, and a ten-card set of Animation Clear Cel cards.

This card was either a pull from one of boxes I purchased from Big T Sports’ Cards or bought from Triangle Cards at Star Wars Celebration V for $2.

Day 10: Star Wars Galaxy 7 Catherine Taber Sketchagraph by Lin Workman

Lin Workman - Catherine Taber

Item: Padmé Amidala Sketch-agraph
Set: Star Wars Galaxy 7
Manufacturer: Topps
Price: $128

Released in January 2012, Star Wars Galaxy 7 was the first set to feature Sketch-agraph cards based on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. An autographed card is sent to an artist who adds a sketch of the character portrayed by the signer. The card was signed by voice actor Catherine Taber who provides the voice of Senator Amidala in the animated series. This original Padmé Amidala art was then drawn by my friend Lin Workman of the Memphis Fan Force (Suspicious Mind Trick)..

After weeks of trying to win any Cat Taber-signed Padmé card, I won this card on eBay in March 2012.
