Item: Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Little Golden Book
Illustrator: Ethen Beavers
Author: Christopher Nicholas
Publisher: A Golden Book
Price: $4.99

The full Star Wars saga has been given the Little Golden Book treatment. The Attack of the Clones book not only features Senator Padmé Amidala on the cover, but in six of the illustrations inside the book. We start with the assassination attempt on the Coruscant landing platform. Next, we see Anakin Skywalker saving her from two kouhuns. The Senator travels home to Naboo and we see her with Anakin Skywalker in a meadow. We don’t see her on Tatooine, but when the story moves to Geonosis, we see her captured by Jango Fett and then in the Geonosian arena. Finally, we see  Padmé and Anakin marry on Naboo.

I purchased this book July 22, 2015, at Books-a-Million, six days before its official release.

Item: Star Wars Weekends Attack of the Clones movie scene pin
Manufacturer: Walt Disney World

While the spinner pins were released in waves (2 per week), all four of the movie scene pins were released on the opening day of Star Wars Weekends 2003 at Disney-MGM Studios. The pin was also available in a framed set that included all four movie scene pins, all 10 spinner pins, and a completer pin.

Much like yesterday, either I purchased this pin myself or my aunt picked it up for me prior to my arrival for Star Wars Weekends.

Item: Season 2 Preview
Manufacturer: Topps
Set: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 1 widevision
Card: PV-8

For season 1 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Topps produced a widevision series of cards. A subset/chase set of cards previewed season 2. This card featured Padmé Amidala in the arms of someone who was not her husband, Anakin Skywalker. We would eventually learn that about the Senator’s history with Rush Clovis..

Several of this card were in the boxes I purchased from Big T Sports Cards.

Day 35: Star Wars Episode I Heroes Chrome Poster

Item: Star Wars Episode I Heroes Chrome Poster
Manufacturer:
Material: Chromium KromeFX, foil-backed (thick paper stock)
Size: 24″ x 36″
Price: ??

Numerous Chrome Art posters were produced in the late 1990s. Most were matted to 8″ x 10″, but two full size posters were produced for Star Wars: Episode I. The heroes version featured here as well as a villains version which featured Darth Maul, Sebulba, Battle Droids, etc. Not only were these posters printed on a foil-backed paper, they were slightly embossed so that the character faces stood out.

I purchased both posters at Tatooine Traders at Disney-MGM Studios, i.e., Walt Disney World. The metal in the posters made them opaque on the TSA x-rays, so I had to remove them from the poster tube to get through security.
